As one of the area’s only oceanfront lodging options, Embassy Suites by Hilton St. Augustine Beach Oceanfront Resort has been creating a buzz since construction began a few years ago. With an anticipated opening of this coming December (yes, a month from now!), many residents and visitors are anxious to see what the resort will have in store, as far as room options, on-site dining, and beachfront offerings.

“Our location blends an oceanfront experience with the historic St. Augustine experience by being right here on the sand at one of the most beautiful beaches in Florida,” explains General Manager Jason Kern. “We are walking distance to some great local restaurants and just minutes from the natural beauty of Anastasia State Park, Matanzas Inlet, and the Amphitheatre, as well as being just four miles from the historic district.”

According to the resort’s website, Embassy Suites by Hilton St. Augustine Beach will offer two-room suites, free made-to-order breakfast, complimentary evening reception (drinks and snacks) for guests, room service, and the Castaway Cantina pool bar. “We’ll also offer the only oceanfront ballroom in our area, giving our local brides or local charity organizations an amazing venue for their dream wedding or special event,” says Kern. “St. Augustine Beach has a great vibe, and I believe our guests will enjoy getting out – whether on foot, bike, or board – to explore the area and will most likely fall in love with it.”

Kern, who lives in Flagler Beach and has a lengthy resume working in management roles within Florida’s hospitality industry, says that the resort has already hired key team members, such as Chris Pranis as Director of Sales & Marketing, Bob Ivey as Director of Food & Beverage, and John Botkin as Executive Chef, but is currently looking to fill front of house and various other positions.

“We hope to become a place for locals and tourists to enjoy together,” Kern says. “Whether it’s drinking a cup of Starbucks in the morning, dining in our signature restaurant, Harvest & Reel, or enjoying a frosty beverage at our Castaway Cantina Bar Oceanside, I think you’ll find us being right at the heart of the destination.”
