Treylor Park owners Trey Wilder and Rick Kunzi have made their way south, bringing with them Georgia’s best chicken wings. Since 2014, both Treylor Park and Hitch have been blowing up the Savannah food scene, honing in on and perfecting the concept of “fine-tuned” southern cuisine.

Joining Kunzi and Wilder for the move is their Executive Chef, Marvin Sterling. Sterling joined the Treylor Park team from Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Savannah, and has created an innovative and unmatched menu filled with items you have seen before, but paired in brand new ways. “The ingredients we use, we are very selective about. It’s something we’ve instilled in ourselves: the simplicity of the items and complexity of the flavor profiles,” Rick shares. As evidenced by their famous PB&J chicken wings and Grilled Apple Pie sandwich, there has been no sacrificing Trey’s Georgian roots in creating the menu.

“The reason we’ve had longevity [in Savannah] is because, in a lot of places, you can find low-end and high-end, but there’s not a lot of middle-ground good quality.” The motto is “quality over quantity,” and it resonates through much more than their cuisine. With Trey’s background with the W Hotel Group and Rick’s fine-dining background, Treylor Park has established a high pedigree of hospitality, with an emphasis on community engagement.

The recent move to Nocatee has presented Kunzi and Wilder with a new challenge: will their restaurant style be accepted outside of Savannah? The ultimate goal is to create a positive experience for guests, start to finish. For Rick and Trey, maintaining the “Treylor Park” essence is all about putting in the face time and getting their hands dirty. They are in touch with their customers and their staff and adapt based on demand. While Treylor Park in Savannah has become more of a tourist destination, they are maintaining the local vibe and cultivating a family friendly environment for the growing Nocatee community.

You may come to Treylor Park for the food, but you are staying for the atmosphere. From the white chandeliers to the wooden bar, there is no shortage of southern charm. Keep your eye out for one of their pig roasts, and be sure to stop in for Disco Bingo. Once a month, you can find Rick on the mic with a DJ in tow for a champagne filled bingo brunch! If you just can’t wait for the next event, not to worry! Treylor Park hosts regular live music and keeps the kitchen open until midnight to satisfy late-night cravings.

Gravitating towards homegrown areas means these two will not be stopped just yet. With two restaurants in Savannah, one in Nocatee, and a food truck on the way, they are always open for their next challenge. Stay tuned for their next big adventure.
