EVERY THURSDAY FROM 7-9 p.m.

Concerts in the Plaza, St. Augustine’s free summer music series, returns for its 28th season serving up some of the best musical entertainment in northeast Florida. The series includes 14 weeks of two-hour concerts held every Thursday from The Gazebo in the Plaza de la Constitución starting at 7:00pm from May 31 through August 30. Admission is free. JULY 27  – DON MCLEAN AT THE PONTE VEDRA CONCERT HALL

The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall proudly presents folk singer and American troubadour Don McLean live in concert. McLean will perform songs from his decades-long musical career including American Pie, Castles in the Air, Vincent and more. McLean is one of America’s most enduring singer-songwriters. Since first hitting the charts in 1971, McLean has amassed more than 40 gold and platinum records worldwide and in 2004, was inducted into the Songwriters’ Hall of Fame. AUG 1  – NANA’S NAUGHTY KNICKERS BY RIVER CITY PLAYERS

River City Players presents their summer production of Nana’s Naughty Knickers August 1-12th at the Scarlett- Hill Theater inside of the Larimer Arts Center at 216 Reid Street in Downtown Palatka. AUG 2  – FARM SWAP AND MUSIC JAM

Enjoy music from local musicians while shopping for farm-fresh produce at the Florida Agricultural Museum. Musicians, singers and songwriters of folk, bluegrass, old time, fiddle, country and blues will be performing while vendors offer fruits, veggies, honeys, jellies, nuts, arts and crafts, tools, farm items, garage sale items, music supplies and instruments, ready-to-eat foods and drinks, plants and so much more. AUG 4  – DRUM RUNNER SERIES BARREL RACING AT ST. JOHNS COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS

Saddle up and head over to the St. Johns County Fairgrounds for monthly barrel, pole and other timed speed horse events. The event is open to public and free for spectators. Awards will be presented for each age group in each event. The races begin at 2 p.m. January through March and 5 p.m. April through November at the St. Johns County Fairgrounds. 5840 SR 207, Elkton

AUG 8 – OPEN ART STUDIO

Vilano Beach Art Programs offers an instructional art session at the North Shore Improvement Association Community Center on Vilano Beach each Wednesday. From noon-3 p.m., local artist Barb Valentine leads an open session where artists can come to share ideas and techniques and meet other artists. Tables and chairs are provided. AUG 12 – SECOND SUNDAY – STETSON’S CONCERT SERIES

This event is located at Beluthahatchee Park, the home grounds of the late Stetson Kennedy, whose home is a twice-dedicated literary landmark honoring Kennedy’s work and the work of his friend, American music legend Woody Guthrie. The music starts at 2 p.m. at the Hart House with tours of Stetson’s Cottage available at 1 p.m. and following the concert at 4 p.m. A donation of $10 per attendee is suggested. Aug 15 – The Alarm at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall

The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall proudly welcomes the groundbreaking early ’80s rock band The Alarm. The Alarm was made in Wales, UK and by the time of 1981’s debut single Unsafe Building, they featured a daring mix of amped-up acoustic guitars, harmonica and passionate vocals that invited the enduring description “Bob Dylan meets The Clash.” Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show is at 8 p.m. Admission is $36.

Aug 15 – Wednesday Market at the Pier

Rain or shine, come to the Wednesday Market at the Pier for fresh produce, baked goods, jewelry, and other quality hand-made gift and home decorating products. Local vendors & artists provide a wide variety of goods with a heavy emphasis on home grown, hand picked, and hand crafted items that are unique. Aug 15 – Music by the Sea

Music by the Sea Free Concert Series, in its’ 16th season, is a popular, free weekly concert for everyone. The concert series, which runs through September 12, features a different band each Wednesday playing a variety of music that ranges from jazz, blues, classic rock, pop, reggae, disco and country.  Bring your cooler, beach chair. Aug 16 – Concerts in the Plaza

Grab your lawn chairs or bring a blanket and come listen to some great music in a great place. Concerts in The Plaza, this year celebrating their 28th season, is a summer long music series that features different musical entertainment each week. Aug 16 – West African Drum Circle of St. Augustine

West African Drum Circles of Saint Augustine is a Free Family-Friendly community event used as a tool for Unity. Located at the St. Johns County Pier on the 3rd Thursday of the month, March through October.  People of ALL levels of musical expertise come together and share their rhythmical spirit. Aug 16 – Heathers The Musical

Nominee of a 2014 Off Broadway Alliance Award for Best New Musical, Heathers The Musical is a hilarious, heartfelt, and homicidal new comedy that will be performed at the Limelight Theatre on the Matuza Main Stage through August 19th.

Aug 16 – Todd Rundgren at Ponte Vedra Concert Hall

Visionary rock artist Todd Rundgren returns to the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall for the first time since his two sold-out shows in 2015. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the performance is at 8 p.m. Admission is $68 and $48.

Aug 18 – St. Augustine Amphitheater Farmers Market

Come out on Saturday mornings to the St. Augustine Amphitheatre Farmers Market,  which hosts over 100 vendors with fresh vegetables, flowers, baked goods, hand-made arts and crafts, and live music from the Front Porch.  Free.

Aug 18 – Cruise-In – St. Augustine Cruisers

The St. Augustine Cruisers Car Club (SAC), a family-oriented organization over 100 members strong, hosts a Cruise-In on the third Saturday of the month in the parking lot of the Riverside Center (Intersection of US 1 and SR 312 behind LongHorn Steakhouse). The Cruise-In includes music, door prizes and a 50/50 drawing as well as Classic Cars. Stop by and check us out! Free.

Aug 18 – Umphree McGee at St. Augustine Ampitheatre

Progressive jam band Umphree McGee returns to the St. Augustine Amphitheatre with special guest Spafford.  Tickets are $35.00.

Aug 24 – Florida Skimboarding Pro/Am Tournament

The Florida Skimboarding Pro/Am Tournament is taking place in Vilano Beach where competing athletes are from more than 75 different beaches throughout Florida, the United States and the world. This event takes place at the Vilano Beach ramp. Check the website for the start times, which are dependent on the weather and conditions.

Aug 25  – Gamble Jam Session

Musicians of all skill levels are welcome to bring their instruments and “Jam Out’ on the second and fourth Saturday of the month. This event is free with park entrance.

Aug 25 – Rick Springfield Presents Best In Show at the St. Augustine Amphitheater

’80s pop icon Rick Springfield and his Best In Show Tour featuring special guests Loverboy, Greg Kihn and Tommy Tutone to the stage. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., performance at 7:00 p.m. Admission ranges from $44-$154.

Aug 25 – Last Saturday – Uptown Saturday Night

Uptown Saturday Night is the perfect event for fashionistas, art lovers and antique shoppers from 5-8 p.m. on the last Saturday of each month year ‘round on San Marco Avenue.  The Mission Nombre de Dios provides free parking most months.

Aug 26 – Sunset/Moonrise at St. Augustine Lighthouse

Enjoy the sunset and moonrise from the top of the lighthouse. A $30 admission includes a champagne toast provided by San Sebastian Winery, hors d’oeuvres from The Reef and an informative overview of the history of the St. Augustine Light Station.

Sep 1-23 – Sing Out Loud Music Festival

The Sing Out Loud Music Festival, the largest free music festival in St. Johns County, returns for three weekends this September. Hundreds of performances will take place at multiple music venues around St. Augustine in an epic celebration. In a convergence of musical genres as wide ranging as folk-tinged Indie Pop, powerhouse Soul, conscientious Punk Rock, bittersweet Americana, progressive Bluegrass, alternative Country and more, this year’s festival carries on the tradition of presenting an exciting and eclectic mix of local, national and regional singers, songwriters and musicians.
